Strong Finish To League Meet Schedule (April 22, 2010) |
Congratulations to the Yale Track and Field team on an excellent showing at their 3rd meet of the season yesterday at Rotary Stadium. Highlights include: Alexis Kreig: 1st senior girls 100m hurdles Keeley Thompson: 1st Senior Girls 100m Erica Van Ginkel: 1st senior girls 800m A.J Griffiths 2nd boys 100m Mike Crivello 3rd boys 100m
The major highlights were the fun but grueling 4 x 400m relays, with the senior boys team of Daniel Poleshuk, Mike Crivello, Josh Kim and A.J. Griffiths LeClair taking 1st place after a back and forth battle with Mouat. The senior girls team of Keeley Thompson, Erica Van Ginkel, Amber Wilson, and Alexis Kreig taking 2nd in their category. The junior boys team of Albert Chau, Aiden Park, JJ Pankratz and Spencer Loughlin also took 2nd place. Congrats to all |

Congratulations to the Junior Golf Team on their win over St. Jean Brebeuf in match play yesterday at Fraser Glen. Our Lions beat their opponents by over 17 strokes. Low scores by Yong Jeong, Kevin Kim and Nick Vulcano, Nick Guenther and Jared Starchuk combined for the victory. Senior Team has a match tomorrow at Sandpiper against Hatzic. Good Luck Lion golfers. |

Yale's Junior Girls Soccer team continued their winning streak with a 6 to 0 win over D.W. Poppy. Four goals were scored in the first half by Jessica Janower, Brianna Loewen, Jessica Collins, and Brianna Mairs. In the second half Kendra Arnold and Jessica Collins added to the socre. Delana Forcier had several aggressive runs down the field , with some strong crosses. Alissa DeGianni, Marleau Brown, Sami Hesketh and Jordyn Chartrand had strong kicks and put pressure on the D.W. Poppy keeper. The girls last league game is this Thursday at Mountain Secondary in Langley. |

Jr A Rugby Defeats Hansen (April 20, 2010) |

Congratulations to the Junior boys A rugby team for defeating Rick Hansen 27-0 yesterday. Try scorers were led by Brodie de St.Remy with two, Spencer Loughlin with two and Max Goldman with one. Akash Deo added a convert. Man of the Match was awarded to Nick Windt for being at all the rucks and making great tackles. |

Sr Rugby Stay Undefeated (April 19, 2010) |

The Sr Boys kept their undefeated season alive and took top spot in the Fraser Valley AAA league with a 30-11 win over Mouat last Thursday. Tries were scored by Matt Bianchini, Jared Johnston, Kris Baranowski, Tyler Barons, and Bryce Hewko. Jared Johnston added a penalty kick and convert. The team takes on Semi this Thursday in White Rock.

Junior Girls Soccer Stay In First (April 16, 2010) |

Yale's Junior Girls Soccer team continues to be in first place with their win over Brookswood yesterday. After a scoreless opening half, Yale scored the only goal, when Jessica Janower set up Brianna Loewen for a well-placed volley into the Brookswood net. There were a lot of scoring chances off the Brookswood keeper and posts. Marleau Brown worked hard in the mid-field initiating several scoring chances. Come cheer the girls on in their next home game, this Tuesday at 3:30. Well done girls! |
