Yale Rugby Makes Province News (May 6, 2010) |
Doug Primrose doesn't have to look too far each day to remember how great playing high school rugby for Abbotsford's Yale Secondary was back in the late 1980s and how fashionable it has suddenly become all over again.
When he left the school as part of its first-ever graduating class of seniors in 1988, the Lions' rugby program was coming off a sixth-place finish at the B.C. Triple A championships.

Junior Girls Soccer Continues to Advance (May 6, 2010) |

CONGRATULATIONS to the Junior Girls Soccer team who have nowadvanced to the FINAL FOUR in the FRASER VALLEYS!!! Yesterday they defeated Fraser Heights 3-0. The first goal was started by defender Jessica Collins, who passed a ball through to BriannaMairs, who finished the ball into the net. Brianna Loewen helped to initiatethe next two goals, which were scored by Kendra Arnold. The next game will be this Tuesday. Location TBA. |

In their final league game of the season, the senior boys rugby squad destroyed the Ravens of Terry Fox. Playoffs start in two weeks.

Junior Girls Soccer Advance To Valleys (April 30, 2010) |
CONGRATS to the Junior Girls Soccer team, who now advance to the FRASER VALLEYS! What a match! At the end of regulation time the game was scoreless. The game was still 0-0 in overtime, thus a shootout. Yale's keeper Maddy McAleese owned the shootout. A game to be proud of by all players! Yale has now advanced to one of the top 8 teams out of 28,in the Fraser Valley! The next game will be this Tuesday. Many thanks to our fans for your support! |

Yale Track Show Well At Abby/Mission (April 30, 2010) |
Congratulation to the Yale track and Field team on anoutstanding two days of competition at the Abby / Mission Championships. 1st place finishes include: Mike Crivello: 1st in the senior boys 100 and 200 Chantel Desch 1st in the senior girls 100, 200 and 400 Erica Van Ginkel 1st in the senior girls 800 and 1500 Alexis Kreig 1st in the senior girls 100 meter hurdles. There were numerous 2 and 3rd place finishes - tooooo manyto mention. The highlights of the meet were Yale's dominance in therelays. The senior boys teamof Mike Crivello, Daniel Poleshuk, Marc Forcier and A.J. Griffiths-Leclaircrushed their foes winning both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter relays. The senior girls team of Alexis Kreig,Keeley Thompson, Erica Van Ginkel and Chantel Desch got second in the 4 x 100,but trounced their opponents in the 4 x 400 by about 70 meters. |

Jr Boys Start Playoffs With Win (April 29, 2010) |

Congratulations once again to the junior boys rugby team for winning their first play off game yesterday against Charles Best 47-7. Try scorers were Brodie de St. Remy with two, Kevin Davisson, Rhys Burnell, ElijahReeves, Coulson de St. Remy and Max Goldman. Akash Deo made 5 converts and Rhys Burnell added one. Jimmy Ahn and Thomas Choi played a strong game as they were making big hits and winning rucks. |
