The Varsity boys basketball team finished 3d in the Western Canada tournament in Kelowna They knocked off #3 RC Palmer in their first game on Thursday, 69-66, but dropped a tough one to #1 South Kamloops on Friday in the semi-final.  The Lions rebounded the final night to beat Balfour Collegiate 84-56.  Click Here for tournament results and stats.

Congratulations to the Junior Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for their victories against Sardis last night.  The boys won by 15 points and the girls trounced their opponent by 28 points.  Great team effort !!  Their final league home game is against St John Brebeuf here on Saturday night with the Girls at 4:00 and the Boys at 5:30pm.

Both the girls and boys junior teams came out on the losing end of their match-ups against cross town rival, Mouat.  Both teams started slow but made tremendous comebacks to make the game close.  The boys took the lead with less than 30 seconds left in the game only to see the Hawk's point guard drop a 15 foot jumper with no time left.  Both teams can be proud of the effort and build on this for the playoffs.

The varsity boys basketball team earned their third title in four years at the Abbotsford Collegiate Snowball Tournament this past weekend.  They beat Rufus King, a division 1 school from Wisconsin, 97-91 in the final Saturday night.  Marek Klassen was named tournament MVP, scoring 34 points in the final.  Tristan Gruenthaler and Jordan Brown were also named to the tournament allstar team.
