Congratulations to our junior girls basketball team who played two hard games on the weekend. The girls beat Brookswood by 10 points and battled hard against Riverside and lost by 7. Good work ladies. |

Sr Boys Drop To 2-2 In League (Feb. 3, 2012) |
After struggling to find any rhythm all game, the Lions started the fourth quarter up 49-40 against the Frontiersman of Chilliwack. In a repeat of their fourth quarter performance against Abby, the Lions saw that lead evaporate and with 3.4 seconds left on the clock, came out of a timeout with the ball and a chance to win. The team was unable to score on their final posession and lost the game 60-59. Next week starts the second of two games against each of Yale's league opponents, all four games being played at home. First up is a rematch against Abby on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 6:00 pm. Come out and support the boys!

Congratulations to the senior girls basketball team who beat Fleetwood Park last night 75-62. The senior girls have played 5 games in the last 5 days and won all their games !! The team is currently ranked #10 in the province.

Sr Boys Defeat Sardis (Feb. 1, 2012) |
Yale came away with an 82-59 victory over the Falcons of Sardis with some high energy pressure defense in the second half, forcing several Sardis turnovers that lead to easy baskets. The Lions trailed for the entire first half but came out fast in the third quarter as they applied a full court press. Trevor and JJ lead the team in scoring with contributions from several other players. The team moves to 2-1 in league play and takes on Chilliwack on Thursday on the road.

Both Girls Teams Victorious (Jan. 31, 2012) |

Both the junior and senior girls were in action last night. The juniors beat Hansen 46 -39 and the senior girls beat Terry Fox 62- 37. The senior girls play Fleetwood Park tonight. |

Lions Roar In Kelowna (Jan. 30, 2012) |

The senior girls basketball team travelled to Kelowna over the weekend to compete in the Kelowna Best in the West Tournament. The girls beat out South Delta, Kelowna and Vernon Secondary to win the tournament. Hailey Kendall and Sara Kurath were awarded tournament all-stars and Kendra Arnold was the tournament MVP. This is the senior girls third tournament win this season. Good workladies! |
