Sr Boys 4th Quarter Collapse (Jan. 27, 2012) |
After a 1-0 start to league against Bateman, the Lions looked to get their second league win against Abby last night, and for three quarters it looked like they would do just that. Unfortunately, the Panthers outscored the Lions 36-10 in the final frame to earn a 78-66 league victory. The collapse was at both ends of the floor as Yale had no answer for Devon Brar who hit everything he shot, and on offense, couldn't find a way to score. This is the third time these teams have met this season. Yale took the first two easily.

Sr Boys Win Delta Tournament (Jan. 22, 2012) |
The Lions came away from Delta with a tournament victory, beating Centennial, Sentinel, and Lord Tweedsmuir in the final. The championship was a game that saw a couple Yale double digit leads evaporate behind the 3-point shooting of Tweedsmuir. Up 84-83 with 12 seconds to play, Trevor stole a pass in their backcourt. The ball ended up in JJ's hands who was fouled with just under 2 seconds remaining. JJ hit both free throws and after a timeout, Tweedsmuir missed a 3 from the corner to seal the 86-83 win for the Lions. Trevor earned the player of the game for the final. JJ was named to the tournament allstar team, and Jauquin was named the tournament's MVP.
