Lions Top Ravens in Semi-Final (March 5, 2010)
The senior boys managed to finish just ahead of Terry Fox in an overtime thriller at Thomas Haney.  The final was 90-85 in favour of Yale, but the team struggled all night to get on a roll.  The Ravens opened up a first quarter lead with hot shooting from the perimeter and aggressive offensive rebounding.  Yale settled in and closed the gap, but the game was back and forth all night.  Nakai hit a couple late game 3s that helped close a 7 point deficit.  In the end, the Lions were able to hold the lead in the first overtime period to earn a spot in the Valley final Saturday, 8:00 pm at Thomas Haney.  Marek Klassen was player of the game with 33 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds.

Lions Edge Out Tamanawis (March 2, 2010)
srbtamanawisThe senior boys came up against an athletic and determined Tamanawis team and came away with a 91-87 victory.  Yale led by as much as 19 early in the second half, but saw that lead evaporate as Tamanawis got hot from behind the arc.  The Lions, in contrast, couldn't buy a bucket from the perimeter.  Some key defensive plays and timely rebounds late in the game allowed Yale to squeak out the win.  The victory moves the Lions into to semi-final this Friday, 6:00 pm at Thomas Haney.
